Trump told Fox News's Bret Baier that he couldn’t return the missing documents because they were packed in with his golf shirts and other personal items. And he went on to say he was also busy. He didn't have time. Amongst the missing documents are secret plans for an invasion of Iran. Everyone agrees that this whole matter could have been tidily handled if Trump had simply relinquished the documents to the DOJ. But plainly there was more at issue. Trump is a little like the student who gets an extension on a paper and then fails to hand it in at all. Should he be allowed to graduate on the basis of the fact that he or she came to school (sometimes)? House arrest has been suggested due to the logistical problems of putting Trump in jail. But what about the sentence resembling those given for drunk driving? What about Trump attending a course--in this case, with one of those organizers who help people get their files in order?
