Who Are "the American People?"

Everyone wants the best for "the American people," but there's no consensus on how to get there. In the meanwhile just "people" are getting threatened with assassination. Senator Fetterman, a Democrat, thinks the radical left is even more culpable in this area than the right.  Where would you rather be? America in 2025, before the fall of Trump? Or Russia l905.
